KC & the Sunshine Band is headlining a Saturday night celebration at Silverleaf, the upscale gated community at Scottsdale’s DC Ranch.
“We went after KC because every one of their songs is fun,” said Jim Hoselton, senior vice president DMB.
This entire week has been set aside to commemorate Silverleaf’s 10th anniversary.
In addition to the concert, DMB sponsored a chef’s night, an art night, a spa day and a luncheon featuring Mark Kelly, the former NASA astronaut and husband of former Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.
So why all the hoopla?
Developer DMB believes Silverleaf, which nestles up to the side of the McDowell Mountains, is one of a kind.
“We set our goals really high with Silverleaf. It’s one of the premier destination neighborhoods in the Western United States,” Hoselton said. “DC Ranch and Silverleaf will always hold a special place for DMB.”
Hoselton shared some data about the community. It’s platted for 715 lots, 355 of which have been built upon. DMB has just 37 lots that remain for sale, though some private owners may have properties on the market as well.
Currently, there are 25 homes under construction.
“That’s pretty amazing,” Hoselton said.
During the past decade, Silverleaf has amassed $1.4 billion in sales. The total was $120 million last year.
Many buyers come from other parts of Scottsdale, though a good percentage have moved here from the Midwest and East Coast.
“They come to Silverleaf for a second home, but because of the lifestyle they make it their primary residence,” Hoselton said.
Homes start around $1 million and have sold for as high as $10 million, Hoselton said.
