DMB — one of Arizona’s largest real estate development companies — has named Charley Freericks its new president.
Freericks has been with Scottsdale-based DMB since 1997. He is now a senior vice president with the development firm.
DMB’s development portfolio includes the Eastmark redevelopment of the GM Proving Grounds in Mesa, DC Ranch in Scottsdale and Marley Park in Surprise.
Freericks’ promotion to president comes after DMB spun off its Hawaii and California developments into a new company named DMB Pacific Ventures.
That business launched in January and is based in San Francisco.
Eneas Kane, who was DMB president and CEO, shifted over to become the top executive at DMB Pacific Ventures.
DMB chairman Drew Brown said the company is optimistic about the Proving Grounds redevelopment. It has been stalled by the recession and real estate downturn.
Two DMB developments —Eastmark and One Scottsdale — were in the running for the Apple Inc. site selection that ended up landing in Austin, Texas.
Brown pointed to Freericks’ experience as one of the reasons of the promotion.
“Freericks brings a wealth of experience working in our communities. We are thrilled to have him leading the company during a very dynamic period of growth for our operations,” Brown said.
