Eastmark AwesomeFest 2015

Traditions Create Community at Verrado and Eastmark

Traditions. They help individuals come together as groups to create shared experiences; they help groups come together as communities to create cultures.

In DMB’s Verrado community that annual tradition is Founder’s Day and at DMB’s Eastmark community, it’s AwesomeFest. These unique events celebrate the distinct people and experiences that define life in Verrado and Eastmark, creating shared experiences and connections between neighbors.

Verrado Founder’s Day Celebrates 10 Years

For 10 years, Verrado residents look forward to Founder’s Day. So much so that plans are adjusted to allow friends and family to travel from near and far to participate in this special, weekend-long experience.

It begins with dancing and mingling under the stars at the Cocktail Party on Friday evening. The fun continues on Saturday morning with a 10k, 5k and 1 mile run through the community and a pancake breakfast to support charitable partners.

By far the most anticipated event is the Saturday Night Block Party. Main Street is alive with family-friendly games and activities. Some seriously talented performances warm up the crowd in the Resident Variety Show. And then the headliner takes the stage. This year, 3,000 residents and their guests enjoyed Sugar Ray. In years past, Rick Springfield, Steven Page, Andy Grammer, The Romantics, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, The Beach Boys, Blues Traveler, Train and B-52’s have taken the stage.

Sunday ends with family friendly traditions and competitions at the Community Picnic including the renowned BBQ Rib and Chili Cook-Off competitions as well as the Bean Bag Toss competition.

Eastmark AwesomeFest Inaugural Celebration

“Awesome” as an important part of Eastmark’s DNA. In fact, this awesome way of life is turning the concept of community on its head.

For one night only, The Eastmark AwesomeFest took over The Eastmark Great Park. More than 5,500 made it out to the inaugural celebration of all things awesome.

Giant butterflies, owls and bats. Incredible musical and dance performances. Dozens of the valley’s best food trucks. Intriguing stilt walkers and pyrotechnics. Glowing bracelets and beach balls. AwesomeFest had a little something for everyone.

With so much awesome in one place, the unique experiences were plenty and the new memories were lasting. DMB is certain this new tradition will only get more awesome with age.

Let’s do great things together.
