4th of July – Fun and Fireworks in the Valley

June 29, 2012

There are dozens of ways to celebrate the Fourth of July in Phoenix – with celebrations starting as early as June 30th, you can get plenty of celebrating in before the Fourth. A few of our favorite area celebrations include the following events:

Future Eastmark residents will love the Southwest Ambulance Arizona Celebration of Freedom in Downtown Mesa. This free event kicks off before Independence Day on June 29-30 and includes a family fun zone, beer gardens, food booths, music, and a wet zone where families can cool off. A High Octane Car Show will feature classic, custom, hot-rod and lowrider cars. The Cox Freedom Plaza will be jam packed with things to see including the Fallen Heroes Memorial, the world’s largest Lego American Flag (previously seen at Centerpoint on Mill!) and Childsplay’s “Rock the Presidents.” This exciting evening wraps up with a fireworks show.

A fireworks show to patriotic music will start at 8:30 pm. Admission is free to the first 10,000 fans with a canned-food donation to benefit local food banks.

Or if live in Marley Park, enjoy the Star-Spangled Celebration Pool Party and Pie Baking Contest. The day kicks off with a Celebration Pancake Breakfast from 7:30-10:00 at the Heritage Club, where Marley Park’s own Isabelle Hunsaker will be singing the National Anthem and residents can enjoy the Pool Party from 6:30-9:30 pm or can participate in or watch the Star-Spangled Celebration Community Parade that kicks off at 6:15 pm at 153rd and Valentine.
