DAR & GSL Enterprises of Arizona, LLC., purchased 1.3 acres from DMB Verrado on December 10, 2015, bringing Culver’s newest franchise location to Verrado’s Marketside District (southwest corner of McDowell Road and Verrado Way).
Verrado’s Marketside District is a 60-acre mixed use district adjacent to the I-10 freeway at the gateway to the community that includes Banner Health Center, Verrado Coffee Company, and CST convenience store and fuel station.
“Culver’s is one of the most popular restaurants around because they deliver a superior product and experience. We are excited to have their first Buckeye restaurant in Verrado,” said Mike Burke, Vice President of Commercial for DMB.
Site improvements for Culver’s are nearly complete and construction is slated to begin the week of December 14, 2015. The restaurant is scheduled to open in spring of 2016.
“Culver’s is a good fit for the Verrado community. We share hometown values, and we treat our customers like family,” said Culver’s franchisee owner Greg Landon. “We are eager to expand into Buckeye and become part of the Verrado community.”
Greg and Darlene Landon are 18-year Culver Franchisees who reside in Goodyear, AZ. They own restaurants in Arizona as well as Wisconsin and Illinois. This restaurant will be their first joint-venture with their daughter, Jacqui Landon Kliesner and son-in-law, Marc Kliesner. The Landon family expects to hire up to 60 team members from the surrounding area.
Continued Marketside District development in the coming years could include restaurants, shopping, medical, hotels and residential units. The district’s architectural character will reflect that of Verrado, while being more accessible to a larger market.
“Marketside’s premier location just off I-10 will help Culver’s and surrounding businesses to draw customers from the region,” said Mike Burke. “We look forward to bringing additional complementary services and businesses to this commercial center in the near future.”
